Beskrivning
Each Brompton is handmade in London with many customisable parts to make it perfect for you. Its ability to fold into a small, portable package make the Brompton ideal for city living.
Built to last
A steel frame, efficient and puncture resistant tyres, handmade with high build quality and a design that has been refined over 25 years means Brompton folding bikes provide years of regular city use and beyond.
Compact
Folds down to a portable, practical size (585mm high x 565mm long x 270mm wide / 23″ x 22.2″ x 10.6″); so can be taken on other forms of public and private transport.
Feel unstoppable
Its ride position and agility are more than a match for conventional bicycles. Small wheels mean fast acceleration from red lights and increased maneoverability through busy streets.
Easy to fold
The clever design means that the bike can easily be folded or unfolded in under 20 seconds.
A Brompton bike is perfect for those that live, work or play in cities: The bike folds up to a third of its size, and weighs on average just 11kg for a standard model, which means a Brompton is suitable to take on all forms of transport – perfect for commuting on trains, popping in the boot of the car and taking out of the city for some fresh air, hailing a taxi when the weather changes or you want to get home late at night.
When folded, a Brompton stays locked together, making an extremely compact package, a little larger than its wheels.
Choosing a bike is about making sure it’s right for you. The right fit for your height, and the right style for the riding position you want. Follow this guide to find your perfect Brompton. There are several range options available to begin your Brompton journey. The best model for you will depend on how you intend to ride the bike and the other features or benefits you are looking for, such as electric-assist, weight, or whether you want details like mudguards, for riding in all weathers. Every Brompton features the same compact fold and all our bikes are proudly designed, developed and made in London, since 1975.
Colors
New for 2021 – Cloud Blue
A light, almost pastel shade of blue keeps us thinking of our favourite riding conditions – blue skies with wispy clouds.
On trend and the perfect partner for our Metro range of bags.
Tempest Blue
A deep navy hue, which delivers style without shouting.
Pairs nicely with the silver componentry and is dark enough to conceal dust and spray from the roads.
Black
Never go out of fashion. Keep things simple with a classic black finish.
House Red
Brompton has had a red in the range since the earliest days, and House Red is our latest vintage to continue the tradition.
Not too loud, but the classic tone does enough to stand out when on the streets.
Racing Green
Quintessentially British, with a nostalgic nod to the livery of some of the first racing cars developed in the UK. Understated and stylish, moves seamlessly between town and country.
Black Lacquer
Our premium finish, with a tinted clear coat, showcasing the best of Brompton brazing skill; leaving raw steel and brass joins visible, yet subtle through a dusky glaze.
Signal Orange
Stand out in the crowd with bold Signal Orange.
Guaranteed to put a smile on your face on every commute or your latest adventure.
Handlebar
There are three handlebar types, offering different riding positions for varying heights of rider and styles of riding.
If you’re taller, you generally want your seat and handlebars higher up, if you’re on the shorter side you generally want your seat and handlebars lower.
Everyone will sit on a bike slightly differently, but if you want a sportier posture you’ll want your handle bars lower and if you want a more relaxed posture you’ll want your handle bars higher.
S Type (Low)
Shorter riders will find this a good all round position and taller riders will be in a lower, sporty ride position, which may be preferable if the rider is used to a road bike.
M Type
For most riders, this provides an all round, neutral position. Shorter riders will find this offers a more upright, leisurely position and taller riders will find this still gives a slightly sporty position.
H Type (High)
The classic handlebar shape, at an elevated height. Taller riders will find this offers a more neutral position and anyone shorter will feel close to upright, similar in style to a traditional Dutch bike.
Gears
2 Speed
One gear for hills and setting off from the traffic lights, one for cruising.
Flexible, easy to maintain, and the lightest gearing option.
3 Speed
A robust enclosed hub gear, a great choice for everyday cycling.
The 3 speed adds around 700g to the weight of the bike.
6 Speed
Our most popular choice. The ultimate all-rounder, for those who wish to take longer rides and challenging inclines.
The 6 speed option is around 900g heavier than the 2 speed.
Mudguard & Luggage rack
R Version
Fitted with mudguards and rack.
The die-cast aluminium rack comes with shock cords and can manage loads up to 10kg. The rack design also improves the ability to roll the folded bike without carrying thanks to the rear wheels.
L Version
Need mudguards? We’ve got you covered.
Equipped with mudguards, essential for cycling in all weathers.
E Version
No mudguards or rack. Going without mudguards looks good and is also the lightest and least expensive option.
Saddle height
Standard
For an inside leg of 84 cm / 33″ and under. Our lightest and shortest seatpost.
Extended
For an inside leg of 84 – 89cm / 33 – 35”. Offers an additional 60mm of elevation but leaves the saddle correspondingly higher when folded.
Telescopic
For an inside leg of over 90cm / 35”. Offers up to 175mm more elevation than a standard post but the saddle only projects 20mm above the folded package.
